What are frames?

Frames in HTML are a way of separating a browser’s display area into separate sections. Each section essentially acts as its own webpage.

Most modern browsers support frames but many publishers avoid them as not all browsers support them so different users could get a different experience.

A collection of frames within the same display area is known as a frameset.
