The SEOniverse

What is a relative link?

A relative link is a link in HTML that does not specify the full web address because the root domain is assumed relative to where the user is.

For example:

<a href="/glossary/">SEOniverse glossary</a>

The server would look for this link in the current directory and as a result would take the user to the glossary page which has the full address https://www.theseoniverse.com/glossary/.

The alternative to a relative link is an absolute link.
